Parent COaching

Megan Robertson

My Story

When I was young, I dreamed of being an architect - someone who
passionately and creatively designed homes for people to enjoy. My dream is
coming true in a way I could not have foreseen or understood then. As a
parent coach, my goal is to help you design and build the most meaningful,
connected, collaborative relationship possible with your child.

After years of studying child psychology and the science and art of raising
children, I have come to realize that we as parents have the power to
fundamentally and positively shift our relationships with our children and the
entire family dynamic. After discovering this, two things have happened. First,
I transformed my relationship with my child that had previously been
dominated by emotional outbursts, high sensitivity, and anxiety. And two, I
have discovered tools that allow me to live with more presence and
playfulness.
Now I feel called to help other parents who may at times feel
hopeless, particularly those with kids aged 4-10 that could be described as
deeply feeling, explosive, or highly sensitive.

I'm not disillusioned that there aren't or won't be hard days as parents but, as
any architect can tell you, the foundation is what allows us to withstand the
elements. Together, we can build that for you and your child. Let's get started!

Influences

I am certified as a Peaceful Parenting Coach through Dr. Laura Markham
and have spent countless hours studying her parenting and coaching
methods.

My work is also heavily influenced by Dr. Becky Kennedy of Good Inside. I
trained with her team to be a mentor to support her online community and
facilitate groups for parents of deeply feeling kids for her community.

My approach has also been deeply informed by the following:

  • Lynn Lyons, LICSW
  • Shefali Tsabary, Ph.D.
  • Glennon Doyle
  • Daniel J. Siegel, M.D.
  • Tina Payne Bryson, Ph.D.
  • Adele Faber
  • Elaine Mazlish
  • Janet Lansbury
  • Richard Schwartz, Ph.D.

Fees

I’m currently offering a discounted introductory rate as I
build up my practice!
Each session is $65 and they are
sold as a set of six to start. I charge the full amount for all
six ($390) after our second session so that if after the first
session, I’m not a fit for your family, you will not be
charged at all. Each session is 50 minutes to allow 10
minutes for me to take notes and make plans for the next
session.

A portion of my caseload will always be reserved for
clients that cannot afford services. I will rotate those
parents in on a first-come, first-serve basis for six free
weekly sessions.

Unfortunately, as a coach, I am not allowed to accept
insurance.

Since we both want to see progress, please
commit to six sessions at a once a week cadence.
All sessions will be held over Zoom.
