I understand because I've been there too...
Hi, I'm Megan Robertson, and I know firsthand how isolating and exhausting it can be to parent a child with big emotions.
Six years ago, I was feeling overwhelmed by emotional outbursts, confused about what was 'normal', disconnected from my kid, and resentful about how hard parenting was. I spent multiple years trying to 'fix' my kid through different forms of child therapy.
At the core, I felt hopeless, alone, and deeply ashamed.
Then after years of studying and implementing and messing up and more researching and trying again and eventually finding tools that actually worked, I saw firsthand that we as parents have the power to fundamentally and positively shift our relationships with our children and the entire family dynamic. I watched this happen ever so slowly, as I started to understand what was going on for her and then respond in ways that upended the patterns we had unknowingly established. Over time, there was an awe-inspiring transformation in our home that led me down a path I never envisioned for myself.
What I envisioned as a child was becoming an architect. This dream has now come true in a way I never could have understood then. After witnessing the drastic change in our home dynamic, I felt called to help other parents design and build more meaningful, connected, and collaborative relationships with their highly sensitive, deeply feeling kids using the tools I spent years learning from experts and carefully developing myself.
I'm not disillusioned that there aren't or won't be hard days as parents but, as any architect can tell you, the foundation is what allows us to withstand the elements. Together, we can build that for you and your child. Let's get started!
